MOST ANNOYING LEFT TURNS IN LOS ANGELES

1. Going west on Beverly, turning onto La Cienega. Get ready for the worst 5 minutes of your day, unless you're in the car with a good friend listening to the genius of John Farrar and the "Xanadu" soundtrack.

U2-3D

I know it sounds like a nightmare to a lot of people, but if you even have a passing tolerance of U2, you owe it to yourself to see their new concert film, especially if you can catch it in IMAX. It's really something unlike you've ever experienced, and better than going to a real concert, because people aren't talking through it, or stinking up the place with their natural scents. (Well, depending on who you're sitting next to.) You haven't lived until Bono's reached out his hand to "wipe away your tears" during "Sunday, Bloody Sunday." Who knows, maybe you don't want to live?

I don't understand those who don't at least admire or respect U2's music. Bono may be a bit of a prat, but the music, especially the 80's stuff, has an undeniable power, and their newer songs hold up well against the classics, at least in the context of an amazing, 80 minute 3-D adventure.

Not to be missed! (But since no one reads this but April, this movie WILL be missed! Um, by the readership of this blog. Get it? It's meta.)

"UNIQUE VISITORS"

I don't want those. Not in my life, or at my website. No, I'm after "Ordinary Visitors."

Yes, "Ordinary Visitors" are the unsung heroes that make the internet work! Yeah, the people in their underwear and panties (what a word!) 'surfing' the web for 'fun' and 'excitement' that have no influence on the opinions of others whatsoever! Yeah, you! You're probably an "Ordinary Visitor," and you don't even know it. You could well be part of my desired demographic! Welcome!

Almost 100 million people watched the Superbowl yesterday. That's a lot. But I don't want those people to look at my site. They're too unique. They go to parties to watch football and chuckle at commercials, and will maybe buy a Pepsi as a result of seeing Justin Timberlake sucking on one. (A "Pepsi.")

No, I'm going after the other 200 million people in America! They're a much larger group who were probably spending their time on a riverboat tour, scrapbooking or taking their kids to see "Hannah Montana in 3-D." They are ordinaire. They don't care about those wacky commercials "EVERYONE will be talking about today around the water cooler." They don't even have water coolers! They're the rebels I'm after!

OOOH! What about the two thirds of Americans who DON'T vote? They make up the largest bloc of political power in our country. They're movers and shakers, by virtue of neither moving nor shaking. It's awe inspiring. Those are the ones I want to read this.

Viva La "Ordinary Visitors!" You've found your virtual home!

(Please wipe your feet.)
