The Pampa News
I love my hometown newspaper. I read it every day online. It's like getting the Onion seven times a week.
I used to write movie reviews for the paper when I was in high school. They are embarrassing to read now. But are they this embarrassing?:

NEW JOB
Howie and I started a new job this week. We're writing on an animated show with some incredible people. It's a lot of fun, but it's cutting into a lot of my laying around time.
Anyway, it's all gonna be worth it when you turn on your TV in 2009. And if you decide not to turn on your TV (jerk), it won't matter since the show will be airing on ABC. That's right, the broadcast waves of our program will be flowing through your body whether you like it or not!
More to come!

Son Of Bad Left Turns
East on Third from La Cienega. Hope you have two seconds to spare, 'cause that's how long (short) the turn light is. Basically, you don't wanna be turning left anywhere near The Bev Center or the Bev Connection. My friend April wants to run for City Council on the platform: "Left Turn Lights For All!" I bet she'd get elected.

SHITE LEFT TURNS CONTINUED
Left onto Bundy from Pico. There's always someone ahead of you in a huge pick-up with 8 mattresses or something stacked to heaven, and the left turn light is not always operating.
Love, Andy Rooney.

MOST ANNOYING LEFT TURNS IN LOS ANGELES
1. Going west on Beverly, turning onto La Cienega. Get ready for the worst 5 minutes of your day, unless you're in the car with a good friend listening to the genius of John Farrar and the "Xanadu" soundtrack.

U2-3D
I know it sounds like a nightmare to a lot of people, but if you even have a passing tolerance of U2, you owe it to yourself to see their new concert film, especially if you can catch it in IMAX. It's really something unlike you've ever experienced, and better than going to a real concert, because people aren't talking through it, or stinking up the place with their natural scents. (Well, depending on who you're sitting next to.) You haven't lived until Bono's reached out his hand to "wipe away your tears" during "Sunday, Bloody Sunday." Who knows, maybe you don't want to live?
I don't understand those who don't at least admire or respect U2's music. Bono may be a bit of a prat, but the music, especially the 80's stuff, has an undeniable power, and their newer songs hold up well against the classics, at least in the context of an amazing, 80 minute 3-D adventure.
Not to be missed! (But since no one reads this but April, this movie WILL be missed! Um, by the readership of this blog. Get it? It's meta.)
